Penny Appeal began in 2009 with the idea that small change makes a big difference; Penny Appeal Australia was formally established in 2016 to bring that mission to Australian communities. The wider organisation now works in more than 30 countries.
Its earliest projects focused on safe, clean water, and the portfolio has grown to orphan care, education, healthcare, emergency relief, and zakat and sadaqah programs, alongside support for programs serving First Nations communities in Australia.
