Is halal investing only for Muslims?
No. Anyone can invest in a Shariah-screened product, and many do so for reasons that have nothing to do with religion.
The screens overlap heavily with ethical and ESG investing - no alcohol, gambling, adult entertainment, conventional armaments or tobacco. Shariah screening then adds four things ESG generally does not: the exclusion of interest-based income, financial-ratio limits on debt, rules about the contract itself, and purification of incidental impure income.
