Where do I find a fund's fees?
In the fees and costs section of the PDS for a retail fund, or the Information Memorandum for a wholesale fund.
Retail PDSs are prepared under ASIC Regulatory Guide 97, which prescribes how fees are presented and requires a worked dollar example. Information Memoranda are not held to the same standard, so a wholesale fee disclosure can be materially less complete.
The TMD is worth reading alongside it - it tells you who the product was designed for.
A practical habit: convert every percentage into dollars, on your own balance, over your own time horizon. A 1.8% fee is abstract; $1,800 a year is not.
